Midterms :(

This week, we started midterms. I had my marketing midterm on Monday, and I feel like it went pretty well. I have my Spanish midterm today, so hopefully that goes just as well! I am taking five classes, which is more than most students, so testing weeks like this can be a bit hectic!

I spent this last weekend studying for midterms. However, since we don´t have Friday classes here, my friends and I usually go to a club called Kapital on Thursday nights. I like going out on Thursday nights because I can have fun and relax, but then study on Friday and Saturday. Kapital is such a fun club! It has seven floors, with different types of music on each floor. My favorite floor is the hip-hop floor, which usually plays popular American music. The best part about Thursdays is that it is free for girls (compared to the usual 15-20 Euros entry)! Last Thursday, my friends and I sang "Say My Name," by Destiny´s Child, on the karaoke floor. I am a horrible singer, so it was a bit embarrassing, but it was so fun. :) After a busy week of school, most students take advantage of Madrid´s amazing nightlife!!
One week from Friday I leave for the Canary Islands for Spring Break! I can´t wait! :)

Valentine´s Day!

These last few weeks in Madrid have flown by! I am really enjoying my classes this semester. I am taking the following classes: Accounting for Decision Making, Marketing, Statistics, Microeconomics and Spanish (Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Spain). It has been pretty busy taking five classes and teaching English three days a week, but I like being busy. Last week, I actually made it to classes at the gym five days. A couple friends and I joined a gym about 5 minutes from my house to get ready for spring break! We have to be in beach body shape because we are going to the Canary Islands! I went to the Canaries last year as well, and fell in love! I am so excited to go back again and spend another week in the sun. My two best friends here and I recently booked our three person room at a hotel right by the beach!

Happy Valentine´s Day! The student council was selling flowers last week to be delivered to anyone in the school today, so the school is smelling great! My parents sent me my Valentine´s box last week - two beautiful necklaces for my best friend and me. :) Next week we start our midterm exams, so this weekend will be spent studying!!

Back to Madrid :)

I arrived back in Madrid about a week ago from my long Christmas vacation. Our break was almost a month long! I had a great Christmas break. One of my best friends visited me from California, and stayed with me for his whole break. I also went to Anchorage, Alaska for a week and a half to see my boyfriend. It was so much fun to see all my friends and spend time with my family. Of course we had a snowy Christmas at home (Montana) and it actually felt like a real winter(there is not any snow in Madrid). Everything at home felt the same; it never really seems to change whenever I go back. It was a fantastic Christmas at home. However, by the end of the break, I was once again ready to return to Madrid.
It always takes a very long time to travel back to Spain. It takes a day just to reach the east coast, and then an additional eight hours from there. However, this time it was much more enjoyable. My best friend/roomate and I ended up having the same flight from D.C. to Madrid! We didn´t know we were booked on the same flight until earlier that day, but her being on the eight hour flight made it so much better! It was very exciting to see her after a month and hear all about her break! And now, I am all settled back in my apartment in Madrid. It feels like I never left! I started my five classes and teaching english last week. It is going to be a very busy, but great semester!
